Coopracambra

Coopracambra is a biodiversity hotspot full of plant species found nowhere else in Victoria. This region supports a greater number of vegetation communities than any other area of a comparable size in Victoria, from grass tree plains, woodlands and coastal heath, to the tall wet forests and rainforests.

The region showcases Victoria’s botanical diversity with an amazing 29 species of eucalypts found in the area. The area of Jones Creek alone boasts the largest stand of warm temperate rainforest in the state, with 29 fern species and 16 species of vines. Coopracambra’s diversity is recognised as a National Rainforest Site of Significance, meaning that Coopracambra has rainforest stands unique and special for Australia, and therefore the world.
